Chase away the sadness and chill at Sweet Madness!

It was the best Sunday ever! One of my best friends and our kiddos discovered this wonderful place in the Eastside of Manila, Sweet Madness Cafe and Kitchen! For starters, check out my yummy drink, the kind that truly warms the heart, the tummy and even gives a feast for the eyes... look at that awesome latte art on my mocha latte... 

 Spiderman would love that mocha latte art design for sure! And I just had to put this salted caramel cake on my face. Seconds after I took this photo, the cake is history. It was so good; I loved the soft chiffon cake underneath all this salted caramel delight! 

 See those yummy pretzels, chocolate wafer sticks, kitkat fingers, creme, chocolate cookie crumbs and the devilish milk chocolate drizzle? It is just madness! Pure... splendid... amazing... crazy... chocolatey Sweet Madness!!! 

I absolutely loved how the love of my life, my sweet Matty enjoyed everything about Sweet Madness Cafe x Kitchen! He doesn't like girly stuff, but he did not mind this teddy bear lounge at all! Apart from the great food, we all loved the ambiance. Sweet Madness Cafe x Kitchen in Taytay Rizal is Truly the best hangout for the whole family. Bring your best friends and work buddies along, too! 

And below is Mackey, one of my son's official BFFs... they both enjoyed the lasagna and the smoothies... My Matty got strawberries and cream, and here's Mackey enjoying the cookies and cream smoothie in a very cute container... 

And since I loved the latte art so much, here it is again... but trust me, it tastes far better than it looks...

EATs the most wonderful time of the year... Yummy Eats 2015!

 Welcoming Yummy Magazine readers, entrepreneurs, connoisseurs & foodies to this Food-tastic, Food-nomenal Cool-inary adventure: Yummy Eats 2015: A Holiday Food Festival! 

Can't help but sing one of my favorite Christmas jingles... "EATs the most wonderful time of the year..." Yes indeed, the Yummy Eats 2015, the most anticipated culinary event of the year brought together by Summit Media's Yummy Magazine and yummy.ph ushered the most exciting season with nothing but the most mouthwatering eats and splendid activit-EAT-ies! 

Above, I came extra early to prepare but lo and behold; all the foodies came extra early too! Indeed, many Yummy readers and food connoisseurs lined up early in the morning to catch the festivities... 

The HUNT'S Combi Van where we gave away tons of goodies such as product packs and recipe books to all Food HUNT-ers who celebrated with us that day... They also gave away yummy eats which and all I can say was... "HUNTS-ARAP!"

Here I am sharing the stage with the lovely Ms. Paulynn Chang-Afable, Editor-in-Chief of Yummy Magazine! I am so honored to work with you and the rest of your talented, dynamic and dedicated Yummy Magazine and yummy.ph editorial team! Forever thankful for the Yummy experience!

And now we award the awesome twosome, sisters Trixie and Meg Tansiongco - the beauty and brains behind PUFFT, this year's people's choice awardees! I have known ate Trixie, events whiz extraordinaire way back, and I am so proud and happy for all you - and your family - have achieved! Congratulations for a well-deserved award! People were raving about your humongous marshmallows; the sweetest gifts you can give this season! My personal favorite flavor was the mint marshmallows, but for sure you'll all go crazy with all the other flavors when you get their delectable and freshly-made Pufft marshmallow gift sets!

Just got LOCK-y... These gals and guy were so fortunate as they walked away with a bag of treats each only from GOLDILOCKS... Big smiles even after they chugged down yummy mamon after yummy mamon! Lucky... or (Goldi)LOCK-y indeed!

HATTENTION!!! Before heading home, I was blessed enough to walk away with a bag of yummy Japanese custard creme filled goodies from HATTENDO. The bread was oh-so-light & fluffy, and the fillings were subtle and creamy; just heavenly! Every single bite was simply Hawesome... Hamazing and Hunforgettable!!! 

I am forever grateful to be part of such a YUMMYazing, YUMMYmorable and YUMMYtastic experience! Won't run out of YUMMY descriptions of this event!

Clucking Delicious as we welcome Chickilicious! (Food Review)

I am so happy for my good friend, Jayson and his wonderful mom and sister, Conchita and Cathy, for bringing in Chickilicious to the Philippine shores! Needless to say, Chickilicious boasts of chicken like never before! I loved how immensely crispy their humongous chicken breast cuts (don't worry, these are real chicken, in fact not frozen - these are delivered fresh, cooked and served right away) and how perfectly tender the breast is! I loved the taste - so did my mom and sister who I just initially dragged there in the first store of Chickilicious, only to find themselves clucking for more! 

Our top favorites were the Lemon Chicken with herbs and seaweeds, and the Crispy Golden Chicken, and the Takoyaki Chicken - yes takoyaki and chicken, why not?!? These golden plates were all pleasant to the palate, an extraordinary kick with its immense burst of flavor! But I think that the winner for that evening, was legendary Chocolate Chicken! I mean I have never eaten sweet viand - I like to keep the sweets for traditional dessert. But the Chocolate Chickilicious Chunk took home the trophy - with the impeccable bitter sweet taste of chocolate, generously drizzled on the magnificent crust of the well-carved, tender, juicy chicken! Ahh.... Chocolate-Chicken heaven! Only found in my newest favorite joint - Chickilicious! 

Plus of course, they even had my classic favorites - yummy crunchy tofu bites, and my favorite calamari - squid rings! Needless to say me and my fave girls were crunching our way to yummy chicken heaven! The experience harked me back to when I visited Taipei, Taiwan back in 2011 - only better! In Taiwan, I never got accustomed to the hit delicacy, stinky tofu, but here with Chickilicious, they made their tofu bites just right! So many Chinese and Taiwanese customers piled that night when we visited - for they all knew Chickilicious back in Taiwan - where the mother franchise company was founded. But the best part? While the Chinese loved it - the Filipinos love Chickilicious more! 

I cannot wait for Chickilicious Philippines to open its wings and soar to more places! And lastly - will you believe me if I say each chicken with rice meal is not more than P 150.00? What a great deal! You can share one meal with your loved one, your office mates, but I am certain that one won't be enough - you'd all find yourselves clucking crazy and loving each and every offering! And above, here I am with my dear friend enjoying a snap as we snapped the yummy Choco Chicken gone! And lastly, let us not forget how awesomazing their Taiwanese beverages are - hands down- the best! I would recommend the Lychee and Passion fruit juices which my mom, sis and I got to try; but with my palate being so discriminating and unadventurous at times - I went with the traditional chilled Taiwanese tea - and drank every last drop!
