So here we were at the Lala-riffic Day # 1 held at the Robinsons Midtown Atrium in Robinsons Place Manila where the sweetest little girls and even adorable little boys came to dance, pose and enjoy with Peanut Big Top and Crumbs Sugar Cookie who came to life and also gave life to every little dreamer that day!

Smooth sailing at Augustea Philippines' Second Annual Crew Conference

Congratulations to Augustea Ship Manning Philippines for a Successful second Crew Conference!
Truly an honour to be the master of ceremonies for the 2nd annual crew conference of Augustea Ship Manning Philippines, Inc. and being their emcee last year for their first-ever conference makes my heart grow with gratitude!
The most heartfelt thanks go to the company's wise and beautiful president and now one of my good friends and a lady I find so beautiful inside and out, Ms. Grace Labrusca Terrei and to the rest of the wonderful Terrei family and staff, for trusting me to be master of ceremony for the second consecutive year! I had so much fun and learned a lot from you all.
This photo above is all thanks to Anj Pantaleon of Creative Impact. Like the Official Facebook Page of CreativeImpact Inc. today! Wow, where do I even begin? There were so many highlights for that day, and everything was simply perfect! I was pleasurable to note that just like Elburg Philippines, also managed by the same exceptional Terrei family, Augustea Ship Manning Philippines also brings the same quality of crew management. Indeed, our modern-day heroes, our Seafarers, or should I say Seafare-Heroes are in the best hands with Augustea.
Pre-event Pretty. Before the event I had to pose with some of my bosses for that day. Flanked by the eloquent and charming Juliet Terrei, Director of Augustea and of course the beautiful President, Grace.
This conference was the venue to update the crew and staff on latest trends about the ever-changing and prevailing Maritime industry, to share the company status, efforts to give service to seafarers, and most importantly - to hear the feedback of our modern-day heroes on how Augustea can serve them and their families better. Serving them better meant giving their kids scholarships too... here was one of the blessed recipients that night, during our ball!
Yup, Augustea knows how to have fun too for right after the fruitful conference, we had a fun ball! Music, dancing, great food and drinks were served for everyone to enjoy and celebrate this momentous day! To learn more about them, please visit The Official Website of Augustea Ship Manning Philippines.

Another Dream comes alive at the Sky Life Dreamland...

"Don't dream your life away... Live out your dreams each day..."
Yes, I can say that this wonderful adage truly applies to my life now. While I am far away from my ultimate dream, I can say that I am truly living my dream - as a professional events host - all thanks to wonderful people who believe in me, especially my beautiful Ms. Chrissy Cabellero and the rest of the wonderful SkyLife heads! Click this link for my video clip: opening this Sky-riffic event: Marylaine Viernes Youtube Channel - SKYLIFE Event Opening
I will forever be thankful for the faith entrusted to me, especially in our latest event: SKYLIFE DREAMLAND, The Adventure Continues! Please like the page tolearn more about the event and to be part of more Sky's future events, please like and follow this link: SkyLife Dreamland Facebook Page
I LAB You. I truly LAB what I do as host and I especially loved The Lab! I enjoyed this awesome new booth for there were so many new things I learned here, and am certain that all the kids LAB this corner too!
Hostperimentation. That's when the event host tries out the super cool experiments & inventions!
Backstage with the Gang - the talented team from Alice in Wonderland! Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and the lovely Alice! We all went crazy over this cool quartet!
This event is for the kids and kids-at-heart who believe in the beauty of our dreams! But what makes this event special is that this is also about honing those little dreamers through exciting experiences that enhance problem-solving skills, critical thinking, EQ and other important tools that will help us all when finally, the roads to our dreams open!
It was my honour to host and play games with the mums, dads and kids, and somehow help them believe in magic! The winners weren't just the kids onstage who won big prizes, but everyone who came for there were tons of freebies!
Thank you Sky Life, for your faith and generosity in letting me live out one of my biggest passions and dreams as an events host. I pray for more adventures to come with you and your awesome event organizer, Global Visions Events in the next year!

From Queen Elsa back to Cinderella. Lastly, here I am again, back to the cinders of real life thank you for allowing me to transform whenever I emcee for each mesmerizing event! Each event with Sky Life is a dream come true! Below is my pre-event "in-rags" poor Miss Cinderella look... Lovin' how I am able to live out my very own fairy tale!
A sweet treat. Right after the fun and exhilarating party, cheers to Maya for treating the kids and kids at heart (like me) to cheery cupcakes that brought out our creativity! Can you spot the colors of Christmas?
"Let your dreams be greater than your fears, and your actions louder than your words... may we all let Faith in God, Gratitude and Persistence lead us all to where we ought to be..."

A Whale of a time plunging "In the Heart of the Sea..."

I've been swimming through the powerful imagery after this awesome movie experience, thanks to Warner Brothers Philippines! Watching this big screen adaptation of a true life story in IMAX made all the more AmaSEAng!
The story takes place back in 1819 at Nantucket, Massachusetts as first mate, Owen Chase (played by Chris Hemsworth, kudos to the impeccable casting) tries to chase after his dream of finally being captain only to be thwarted as one of the sponsors of the Essex installs Captain George Pollard, Jr. Politics comes in between the two men - the former being the one with the skill and experience, while the latter earning his laurels by blood relation. So the warring duo and their crew set sail in one of the greatest journeys in history... and atrocity.
Witnessing the journey was indeed mesmerising; giving us viewers a solid firsthand account of how it must have been on that harrowing whale-hunting journey aboard the Essex. Scene to scene there was always something gripping but yet, even if this awesome movie walked us through this wonderful journey back in time - there were still enigmas that really leaves the creative mind curious - that is why I still ponder about the whale, what it must be thinking when it devised the plan; could there be more to it than this, and what wonders, really does the seas hold from the rest of the world?
You cannot afford to miss this exhilarating tale and for sure you won't miss this tail...
And from one masterpiece to the next, this movie also gave light to how Herman Melville was inspired to write one of the greatest classics of all time, Moby Dick. Have a whale of a weekend with your family by watching this movie! And while you are at it, here are some fun facts:
1. A sperm whale (such as the not-so-mythical albino one known as Moby Dick) owns up to the scientific name, "physeter macrocephalus." This defines exactly how sperm whales look!
2. Whales continue to be targets of hunters primarily because of oil and ambergris, substances with high demand to this date. (Oh I wish we can find substitutes to these and lessen whaling efforts).
3. Sperm whales are vocal and through echolocation, they are able to determine the location, size and shape of their target.

The dazzling Colours of Christmas bursting at Robinsons Place Lipa!

A bedazzled Christmas to all! Here I am with the kid-beneficiaries of Robinsons Place Lipa, for another Christmas Mall Lighting and Holiday kick-off party!
As happy as can be. Christmas is in the air, in all Robinsons Malls!
It truly is bright and merry at Robinsons, with their exceptional holiday theme, "One Dazzling Christmas at Robinsons Malls!" Found myself screaming like the girls who packed the place and are smitten with this teen heartthrob and guest for that day, Miguel Tanfelix! Watch him dance in my videos below, and for sure - even if you are old enough to be his mom (like little old me) - you will surely scream and fall for this promising and extremely talented young star too...
Apart from the total star factor - this affair boasted of grand lights and sights! But at the heart of it all was a testament to what Christmas is all about - sharing our blessings and caring for those who need our aid the most.
CON you see me? In this blast of CONFETTI, see if you can still spot me...
The Joy of Sharing & Gift-giving. Thank you Robinsons Malls for giving delight to all these kids, and of course to everyone else who were part of this party!
But probably, the most blessed part of this wonderful and unforgettable affair was the chance to pass by this lovely chapel in Lipa, near the Robinsons Mall... thank you Lord for your immense blessings!

Hope you like my shimmering & splendid sequined dress!
And of course, with the esteemed guests, starting with celebrity performer, Jerome Ponce, and our VIPs from the local government and Robinsons Mall Management:
From the photo wall on the second level, we all flew back down to the event hall again...
So much love and joy to share this day... Merry Christmas, kids and to the kids-at-heart too!
Photo above: Me with teen heartthrob Jerome (who is young enough to be my baby brother) and beyond this Selfie were his many lady fans who were ready to claw at us just to touch their idol.. it was beyond crazy!!!
So many more events this Christmas season that I haven't written about thanks to a very blessed and packed schedule! But I ain't complaining! A VICTOR-ious time with Frankenstein!

Death is only a temporary state. Indeed, I find it amusing how two of my most favorite literary masterpieces of all time – the classic tale, Frankenstein, and of course, the timeless, Harry Potter series (I’ve been going crazy about next year’s debut of The Cursed Child – but let’s save that for another post) feature Daniel Radcliffe, of Harry Potter fame. But more than the same person in both fiction opuses, what truly lurches in my mind is how both stories are set on the foreboding blanket of death, and the take of each respective author toward death – being something temporary, conquerable, consequential. Indeed, how both stories seem to zero in on the premise (or promise?) that Death is never the end.
This time, Radcliffe jumps down from his high-flying (literally, and hops off his Nimbus 2000 broomstick) character and down to being a hunchback circus buffoon who finally receives a name, “Igor,” thanks to the vile Victor Frankenstein (played by James McAvoy) whose Life was centered on Death. While a much-reviled circus clown, surprisingly Igor (Radcliffe) was a self-taught doctor of sorts and I was almost happy for him during his exeunt from the circus – only to lead a more antagonistic life, finally understanding the root of the sinister Victor Frankenstein’s fascination with bringing the dead back to life.
At one of the most gripping, foretelling scenes at the enisled castle that served as the unlikely duo’s home, people died – only to give way to the monstrous creature that finally with lighting and ghastly sorts of tricks – finally come to life. The scenes that followed after were just like lightning, you anticipate them but you won’t exactly know when the excitement will strike; the action will keep you at the edge of your seats, taking you to places you only know to be in your nightmares; plus the movie's well-written lines in majuscule proportions add to it being one victorious oeuvre! Check out these awesome BTS photos courtesy of 20th Century Fox Philippines:
Nope, that is not LECHON that a hungy-looking James Mc Avoy and director McGuigan are looking at.. Intrigued? Just head to theaters now to see your greatest imagination (and nightmares) come to life!
And lastly, to the men- feel free to bring your ladies too as while I don’t want to ruin this adventure, there is still the romantic, happily-ever-after part of it that will make you swoon and realize that hunchbacks (especially those with Zeal for knowledge and Leal for just one lady) don’t remain hunchbacks forever. There is indeed life after death (as we die every day in different ways without even realizing it), and most of all, truly a much better life flourishes when we learn to rise with a clearer mind and kinder heart. I know the monster in you is raring to see it! So go and set yourself free!
*****
A monstrously big, big Thank-You to Mr. Francis Soliven, the lovely Ms. Mae Vecina and the rest of the awesome guys over at 20th Century Fox for this thrilling big screen adventure!
