Hosting was so much fun, for the opening of Miniso SM Sangandaan!

I feel (MINI)SO special and (MINI)SO blessed as I got the honour of hosting once again for MINISO Japanese Designer Brand, this time at SM Center Sangandaan. A few days ago, I had the pleasure of being master of ceremonies for SM City Baliwag opening. We can revisit this wonderful time by reading about it right here: Marylaine Viernes hosts the inauguration of MINISO SM City Baliwag!

Thanks to Miniso Philippines, I find myself at yet another wonderful SM Mall, and this time, with superb talents, Andrea Torres, dubbed as the 'sexiest on the dance floor,' and the funny Andre Paras! Here is my first video, as I open the entire ceremony...
And here I was too, leading the ribbon cutting ceremony... watch!
But the best part?  As my family, friends and those who frequent my blog would know, the events where I get to bring my sweet son along are always extra special! First up is my handsome companion, Godric Matthew, with the sizzling hot Ms. Andrea Torres...

And here he was, shopping with the tall and handsome, Andre Paras!
Miniso SM Sangandaan mary-the-host
How adorable are these three??? Aren't they (MINI)SO cute?!?
Miniso SM Sangandaan mary-the-host
But more than these two celebrities who graced the event, my Matthew also posed alongside the President of Miniso Philippines, the distinguished Mr. Michael Hong:

And of course, I too had to take a photo with Mr. Michael Hong; such an honor to be their master of ceremonies for the second time in a row, for SM Center Sangandaan!
Miniso SM Sangandaan mary-the-host
But here's the most special guest of the day for me... I am so happy that he came along as he too got to experience this phenomenal affair!
Miniso SM Sangandaan mary-the-host
... and I am glad that my Matthew also got to know about the Japanese tradition known as 'Kagami Biraki,' which is an integral portion of all the Miniso store inaugurations...
Miniso SM Sangandaan mary-the-host
Before I end my post, I would like to share my finds for the day, which were mostly 'essentials'. First, I now only entrust my skin to Miniso's superb facial washes; and second, I am crazy about the foot socks, they stay in place. I think I have more than 10 pairs already! And lastly I also adore the seamless undies from Miniso; top quality material at an unbelievably low price. Where else should I go now for my essentials, but the Miniso store nearest me? I say this all the time and I won't tire saying it: I love Minisomuch!

Thanks for visiting my blog and reading all about my Miniso SM Sangandaan store opening adventure; please make sure you also visit a Miniso store near you! Plus, don't forget to share your photos and videos with the hashtag, #MINISOPH today!

One with Excellence, the number 1 in its industry, especially in celebrating 'One World, One EDL'...

One World, One EDL mary-the-host
Mabuhay! Welcome to this year's EDL Party! So I am feeling my being 'Miss Philippines," during EDL Group of Companies' 2016 company party! Last year, I have also been so blessed to honoured to co-emcee for their outrageously awesome hip-hop themed party... please read back about it and see me in my hip-hoppiest look, right here: Marylaine Viernes hosts for the EDL Group of Companies 2015 Christmas Party!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
I loved every minute of hosting for EDL! This year was a welcome challenge as it was only me on the stage unlike last year, when I had two handsome co-hosts onstage, both employees of EDL as well. This year was certainly bigger and brighter! Each company went all out with their performances and presentations! Ah... just like Excellence, one of the brands under EDL Group, which keeps getting better and brighter, never contented even if they have long been Number 1.
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
Hope you can also watch some of my clips in action too:
And before the awesome evening program, there was also a parade of nations! First up was the Middle East. Can you all see the lovely Princess Jasmines? Calling Aladdin!!!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
This time for Africa... this group makes you go Waka Waka!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
And of course...the one country I pray I can fly to (finally) and see this 2017.... Japan!!!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
And well, here's another video of this memorable event right here... please watch me in action; thank you!
And I know this is so redundant, but because I wished that I was a beauty queen too just like last year's Miss Universe, Miss Pia Wurtzbach, please indulge me with a last 'Miss Philippines' photo...
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
Thanks to my boss-for-the-day, Ms. Em Berbano, and to the whole EDL and Excellence family for the faith!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
And to the benevolent Boss MB too! The most loved and respected in the industry! He is the founder and head of Pit Games Media...
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
And before I forget, I got to bring this one along too, which makes the even more special... my love of course came as his favorite Pokemon Trainer, Ash as he reveled around the resort where this party was held at: Estancia De Lorenzo, San Mateo Rizal...
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
And he got to host for me too... sweet!!!
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
One World, One EDL mary-the-host
He loved every bit of this event as much as I did... Hope you liked to read this blog post... cheers from me and my handsome boy...

Expressing my joy and passion as I emceed for and Celebrated Hallmark Moments!

This is the moment when the one brand I always expect during Christmas, Hallmark, finally gets me to be their emcee for their awesome word festival at the UP Town Center, Ayala Mall! This memorable event, "Celebrate Hallmark Moments," also marks the 30th year of Hallmark Philippines! But first, one of my videos of this one-of-a-kind festival...
I absolutely loved how this event, the first type of its kind that I've ever hosted, appealed to its audience's sensibilities, as to my heart. This event featured poets from Words Anonymous, superstar poets in their own right who has enlivened open mic poetry in the country.... what a remarkable honor it was to be there this special, starry, zen night!
Is it obvious that I was so ecstatic to be here? So glad to be both the emcee of the evening, and also rapporteur-sightseer-cum-member of the spoken poetry fanatic audience! An unforgettable celebration indeed...
Celebrated Hallmark Moments mary-the-host
Speak! And igniting the night was Henri Igna, one of the more popular spoken poetry artists in the country... I am surprised with how much this craft has gained ground through the years! Do I want to join them? Well... I auditioned impromptu as I tried to do spoken word poetry in my hosting but I guess I failed...
Celebrated Hallmark Moments mary-the-host
Checking on my wonderful audience... they were shy and sweet; the type to really feel with words... we listened to poetry and also played #HugotLine games that night; there were so many wonderful freebies from Hallmark given out throughout the evening...
Celebrated Hallmark Moments mary-the-host

But if you think it was all just words and poetry; think again! We also had Itchyworms rock the stage that night, and I just had to pose with the amazingly talented and funny Jugs Jugueta, who is also a tortoise love like me! He has a ton of torts, now I only have three, but here's our photo with my tortoises, back when I used to have my dear sweet Hosea... (Read: A tribute to my beloved pet tortoise, Hosea)

Peek-a-boo! I see you! I hope to see you visiting my blog again! Watch out for my next posts... OMG I have so much more to write; I find it hard to keep up with blogging with the amount of work (both day job and hosting gigs) but hey, I can't complain! Indeed, time is so precious...

Only Cherifer can make me dance like nobody's watching! Hosting for Cherifer's family fun day!

And I am back with Kuya Jazper for another awesome event with Cherifer Tangkad Sagad! But first, here's a look back at our earlier Camp Tangkad event, held at Marquee Mall: Marylaine Viernes ushers in genuine fun as she hosts for Cherifer!
Hosting for Cherifer's family mary-the-host
So we sing in the shower, and dance like we can fly, to our favourite tunes, witnessed only by the eyes of our minds. While I am quite comfortable while I am working the mic onstage, I would say that dancing with my awesome co-host Jazper on the Cherifer stage was really the craziest thing I've done as of late! Here are some of my clips dancing thanks to Jazper and Cherifer Boy! Can you tell just how "Happy" I was here?
And here's two clips of Kuya Jazper and I, doing our opening & sponsor spiels, along with me explaining more about this enriching and exciting event's mechanics...
Now, in this clip, I get to interview some of our awesome participants...  click the play button to watch!
And more dancing!!! This time, we get to dance and play games and dance and play some more! This has already become a habit for me.. thanks to this event, I've lost all my inhibitions and dance when the situation calls for it...
We look like young kids don't we? I guess we will be forever young at heart... And we certainly love our jobs as events hosts. Like me, Jazper has a day job too, and we only do this on the side... ah the perks of being loquacious and loud!

All things dreamy and nice: hosting for The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice (Part 2)

Wow, it's that time of the year once again when I get to host for the mall tours and promotional activities of Disney on Ice! It's a miracle that I still got to fit into my mermaid outfit... sigh... what I would do for Disney... and for that little girl inside of me (I don't mean inside my belly... excuse me as we mermaids just ate a little too much):
The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice mary-the-host
Here I was in my Princess Ariel inspired look as I welcome everyone with my signature energetic show opening! I just love being part of the wonderful world of Disney on Ice!
Here's a video of me as I introduce Skate-sational Disney on Ice senior skater who portrays adult Simba... Mr. Michael Helgren!
For the first time in forever, (the first two days at least), I got to attend an exciting Disney on Ice Masterclass, with no less than the awesome Disney on Ice professional skaters / performers as our instructors! Please check out my earlier post right here:
But that's not all! This third and last day was just so magical for me for we also had a meet & greet with Mickey and Minnie Mouse, plus this handsome little Jedi... perhaps you recognize him? My very own Star (minus the Wars)!
The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice mary-the-host
Plus check out these cute sisters right here staring and waving at me in my mermaid outfit backstage as I waited for my turn to be onstage again... these are the moments that make me so happy and thankful to be given the chance to be such a busy events host!

Feeling like a Princess on Ice thanks to The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice! (Part 1)

What's better than a spectacular experience? Answer: An ICE-PECTACULAR adventure! Once again this year, I am so blessed to have emceed for Disney on Ice, as they find a new home at the Mall of Asia Arena. Below is a clip from Day 1 of this 3-day adventure!
And now, a video clip for Day 2, where I came to join the Disney On Ice Masterclass with young princesses... true royalty on ice!
Wow, where do I start? I have so many things to share like how blessed I am to have voiced-over The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice Singapore, but let me just maintain my focus first on this ICE-CAPADE, where I spent two days on the ice, learning with only the best: the performers from The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice themselves!
The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice mary-the-host
Trivia: That really handsome skater at the extreme left of the photo portrayed Prince Charming in the Snow White segment; talk about perfect casting! Swoon... his smile made my cold princess heart melt. Now you know why my favourite part of the Wonderful World of Disney on Ice is no less than the Snow White show! Let me forget for a moment that I a mom okay... let me hark back to the days when I was 7 or 8 and I just watched my favourite Disney films on our VHS player all day!
The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice mary-the-host
So yes, for Day 1 of this splendid hosting gig for theDisney On Ice skating Master Class with members of the media, where I came in my Rapunzel-inspired look. Can you spot cheeky li'l Pascal? He's my plushy chameleon to complete my 'Tangled' inspired look!
The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice mary-the-host
Day 1 was with the members of the press and they were very sweet... like this guy. But I failed to get his name though... had to take a we-fie with him too right after we posed for his camera!
The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice mary-the-host
Good thing there wasn't a video, because just when I was feeling like a pro on the ice and really getting the hang of it, my Rapunzel-long hair fell on the ice, and I landed on my bottom! From cloud 9 it was back to reality for me! And I loved how one of my favorite Disney On Ice skaters pointed out that I was so in character, for like the movie, Tangled, Rapunzel had her hair cut short. As for me, my long wig fell of for I was letting loose on the ice, and my reverie was cut short. LOL! Day 1 was perfect... save for my weary shoulder (thank God I didn't break my shoulder / arm) thanks to the 'Tangled' scene!
And now, on to the next day, where I got me singing, "I can show you the world... shining, shimmering, splendid..." You guessed it; I channeled one of my most favorite Disney Princesses of all time: Jasmine! But this time, I didn't get to feel such a royalty on the ice, for the guests in the audience were so amazing, even the pro skaters and performers from Disney On Ice were surprised! Yes, Day 2 was the Disney On Ice Master Class, this time with young masters, or princesses on the ice. The figure skating enthusiasts were regulars of the SM Arena Skating rink, and most of them were already advanced in figure skating. It was a great day to fuel passions and dreams further, because they got the chance to interview and ask the professional Disney skaters, especially as all of them aspired to someday be part of the Disney On Ice shows. And boy, did these kids have a ton of questions, ranging from the lifestyle habits of the skaters, all the way to how can they actually audition for Disney On Ice! Good luck girls, and seize those dreams!
The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice mary-the-host
Thank you so much, SMLEI and Feld Entertainment, Disney On Ice for making me part of your unforgettable Master Class for The Wonderful World of Disney On Ice, both as your emcee and one of your student skaters! Feeling like a Princess indeed...

Gifted: A very special big-screen present for families, from 20th Century Fox!

So many thoughts are swirling on my mind and I just don't know how to start this movie review. All I know is that I absolutely loved Warner Brothers Philippines / 20th Century Fox Philippines latest gift for my family and I: invites to the exclusive premier night screening of 'Gifted' movie. Let me try to jot down some of the things running into my head right now:
1. Kenna make my heart sing? She sure ken! I can't believe that my newest life idol is a little girl in the person of McKenna Grace! Her superb, truly flawless acting makes my heart sing, and one blog post is not enough to describe how she has mesmerised us viewers! A breath of fresh air, she truly deserves this role. She just has the most beautiful face I've ever seen, and keep it up little girl, you will soon be the next big star, with the face of a blonde Anne Hathaway. If stats for Google searches for McKenna Grace skyrocketed, you can attribute some of it to me. I loved this young superstar in the movie; I could not think of any other child actress who can give life to "Mary" the way she did. Plus, her chemistry with her onscreen uncle, Chris Evans is arresting that you forget it's a movie; you'd think they've known each other for McKenna's lifetime. And Mary, that mathematics doyen and her two missing front teeth couldn't get any cuter! (Since I went ballistic googling about McKenna Grace who portrays math prodigy Mary after seeing the movie, I've watched a few of her promos for the movie and with her wits and mature stature, her real nature isn't far from her big screen persona). I am certain once you see this heart-warming movie, you will fall in love with this precious, endearing and vivacious little girl too!
2. Chris Evans as Frank Adler. He and his sexy, rock-hard abs didn't appeal to me back when he shot into stardom as the cocky 'Human Torch' from the Fantastic Four franchise. When he moved on to becoming an Avenger (and how he betrayed Tony), I truly abhorred him. So how ironic is it that I have now fallen in love with Chris Evans in his humble role and yet I have fallen in love with him? In the movie, Chris Evans shows a surprisingly gentle side to him as he portrays the guardian and uncle of math prodigy, Mary Aileen. Since I can't spoil it all for you, let me just share this still, from of my most favourite scenes!
3. Jordan Ellenburg. What I loved about this movie apart from how it grips your heart, is how factual its phantasm is... how truly profound the struggle of a single uncle is, how his beauty shines through the magic of what makes his niece extra special. Thanks to Jordan Ellenburg who has shared not just his mind but also his heart to make the movie dynamic and realistic, the movie lets you into the reality of how it is to have a gifted child, and the struggles of those who truly care, versus those who just see a resource and aim to exploit it, for the so-called greater picture. Indeed, quite a lot to digest. And I can't even digest a basic algebra problem!
4. The Navier Stokes. Now, on to more stuff my puny brain and I just can't handle. This movie puts on the microscope on an unsolved mystery in the world of mathematics, one of the six problems left out of the seven Millenium Prize Problems yet to be explained. This involves how pressure, velocity, temperature and density of a moving fluid are related. Such a beautifully mysterious concept was chosen by the movie writer, Tom Flynn because of the important consequences it could have in the real world if it were solved, such as the physical phenomena, turbulence, which is of critical importance to engineers and scientists. Concepts like this are still not fully understood in terms of mathematical equations, and perhaps the solution to the Navier-Stokes would shed light to this. And this is why, ladies and gentlemen, I stick to hosting and writing. I do not understand one bit these bizarre symbols and all. All I know is that this movie is a solution to all your blues; watch it; more than a movie it's like a big, big hug to all those whose life centres around a young child, gifted or not, and the sacrifices it entails and the mistakes and triumphs along the way.
I am no mathematical doyen, but I am a self-declared movie virtuoso; for it doesn't take a genius to know if a movie is worth the spend! For a feel-good and truly delightful time with your loved ones, watch Gifted in your favorite Ayala Mall soon! I would highly suggest you enjoy it soon at my newest favorite Ayala Mall, The 30th!
Thanks for dropping by; hope you like my review as much as I loved the movie! Please do click on these other links below, for more about my life and experiences as a Gifted (I'd like to think that, LOL) professional events host / emcee:
