Bold and beautiful: leading the launch of Caracole Philippines' flagship showroom

This is among, if not the most elegant event I have ever been to, so far where timeless, classic home pieces dive into modern sensibilities. Every corner of this showroom exuded sophistication; the Caracole Philippines flagship store is a glimpse of my dream home!

It was such an honour to be the master of ceremonies during the lavish launch of the Caracole Philippines showroom held - and rightly so - at the Greenbelt mall. More than the loyal clients of Dexterton Corporation, this was truly an exquisite event with no less than powerhouse couple, 2/5 of the sensational #TEAMKramer, Doug Kramer and Chesca Garcia-Kramer.
Once again, thank you very much to Dexterton Corporation!
Photos above about my wonderful chat with the two gorgeous marketing managers of Caracole in North America and Kazahkstan. Below, the Caracole-Dexteron family during the grand unveiling:
Caracole doesn't just boast of fabulous furniture pieces but also gorgeous managers who can truly pass as beauty queens! This lovely lady handles Asia markets and she is from Kazakhstan:
Meet Luiza, this beauty queen of a marketing manager I also interviewed. She handles North American markets... she's Brazilian; I like her so much most especially as Brazilians are close to my heart now...
And of course, the beautiful and sweet Chesca Garcia-Kramer...
Above: my smug smile. Below is a photo before the grand unveiling... without a tinge of doubt, this is the finest furniture showroom of all!
And the best part was that my little special someone got to tag along...
Backstage: after the show, we also made a handsome little friend!
Presenting Ms. Brazil, Ms. Philippines and Ms. Kazakhstan! And the winner is... Caracole!
My heart is twice as happy when my not-so-little-one is happy...
Hope you liked reading about my Caracole adventure... Ciao for now!

Cleaning up my act as I turn Dirty Thirty!

So... this post about me reaching 'Dirty Thirty' had been in the 'drafts' section until one year after, now that I am turning 31 already! Wow, time really flies by so fast, so these were the magical moments I spent with my son at the City of Dreams in celebration of me reaching the dreaded three oh! We looked like Smurfs, who could make really yummy gingerbread men! These poor gingerbread men were devoured in two bites!
If only my little buddy boy here and I can simply have fun and play all day! Nah, I need to work harder for my dreams and for my son's future; and my beloved boy needs to study hard to be like Megamind!
Thank you, Lord for all of my blessings! For the ability to afford an overnight stay at City of Dreams and an unforgettable time at Dreamplay! Also for supporting us and once in a while allowing us to savor the finest things that life has to offer!
Happy Birthday to me! This young man is the greatest gift I have ever received from God, and I pray that he also cherishes my presence in his life as one of his most meaningful gifts too...
And here's a throwback to about two or three years ago, when I also checked into a hotel to celebrate my birthday, with the same love of my life, only smaller and much lighter and the same goes for me as well...
I will soon be 31, and I pray that life continues to be kind and wonderful, allow me to be a step closer to my dreams and most of all, equip me to help my son achieve the bright future that he deserves! But for now, let us all click on below for more of my hosting adventures!

Decades and decadence: the scintillating Alorica year-end party I hosted with Sam YG!

I hosted with Sam YG! mary-the-host
First time for me to share the stage with one of the most super-celebrity hosts in the country, the amazing Mr. Sam Gogna, or more popularly known as Sam YG! This was such a big-time event, and I had to make sure I came fit for its theme, "Decades."
I hosted with Sam YG! mary-the-host
This was the best look I could muster, a bit of Flapper-inspired, all while sticking to Alorica Philippines' royal blue and orange corporate hues... hope you like it as much as I loved styling myself and playing dress up for this superb occasion!

Here I was leading one of the raffle draws along with one of the employees of Alorica...

The night was so grand. This time, apart from the Alorica employees, Sam and I welcomes some of the VIPs of Alorica, especially their president, Mr. Bong Borja, on the microphone exciting everyone with the really, really grand surprises still to come their way...

And here was the standee to our dressing / holding area... awww, I feel so special to have my name not just alongside Sam, but also two of the country's hottest, most popular bands ever! South Border has been around since the '90s too; ask a '90s kid like me!

I also did my own hair and makeup as I wanted the look to be perfect for the night's theme! I had in mind the elements of Great Gatsby as I prepared for this event...

And here was one of my favorite solo snaps of this night...

And the same shot in black and white... for that added "decades" feel... What do you think is nicer?

It was not just an honor to host alongside SamYG... it was also a ton of fun!
And of course I saw a few old friends, especially this lovely young lady, my high school mate... she is working for Alorica now, and I am so happy to bump into her this evening!

One Crew, One Horizon: All Aboard the 9th Elburg Crew Conference!

I am so blessed for the chance to once again host for the ELBURG Philippines Crew Conference for the third consecutive year now! But before we dive into it, I'd like to share that preceding this event with Elburg was the one of their sister company's, Augustea Ship Manning Philippines, making me doubly blessed! Read all about it too: Marylaine Viernes serves as master of ceremonies for Augustea Crew Conference 2016. This year, we set sail at the New World Hotel in Makati, and this superb event was once again brimming with trends and technical information about the gung ho shipping industry. But the sad part was that I was unable to take any photos of myself during the earlier part of the Elburg Philippines' conference, most especially during the awarding ceremony, where various crew members and Elburg principals were in attendance starting from the early morning program.

But the I do have tons of snaps during the delightfully intoxicating evening socials; some were a bit naughty... quite eye-popping if you ask my constant little companion below...
All Aboard the 9th Elburg Crew Conference mary-the-host
Sorry guys I can't post photos of the sexy girls in attendance; but don't you think that Augustea Philippines' boss, Grace Labrusca is gorgeous? Photo above shows Ms. Labrusca, President of Augustea Philippines having fun with the singers of the band, and of course, my beloved boy, Godric Matthew!

Photo above shows Grace and I with the sexy, sultry Ethel Booba, one of the night's guest comediennes...

And now, here's my very own cadet, with the handsome, debonair Elburg Philippines cadets:

After enjoying his ship cadet duties, here's my Matty trying his hand at being the dog handler... like they say, expose 'em and start 'em young!
All Aboard the 9th Elburg Crew Conference mary-the-host
And to conclude, here are a few snaps of how it is to be a working mom, how to juggle my love for work with my Greatest Love. As much as possible, I'd love to include my son in all of my work and events hosting adventures, if he is allowed to join and at first, things come out smooth sailing... until he gets bored, tired or sleepy... like in the photo below:
All Aboard the 9th Elburg Crew Conference mary-the-host
Then here he was trying to play on the staircase (or trying to make trip and fall?). This snap makes me remember a line from a song sung by one of my all-time favourite singers, Shakira: "lucky I have strong legs like my mother, to run for cover when I need it..." But I'd like to reword this to: "I need to have strong legs as a mother, to stand firm when he needs it..." Now that he's growing up so fast, the more I need to firmly plant my to feet on the ground; figuratively and literally!

But no matter the storms that come our way, I shall continue to hold on to the One who alone has been able to calm the storm with His Hand... there is no other life I'd settle for. I am learning to embrace where and who I am, and I pray to become who I am meant to be, under God's perfect Will and Timing.
All Aboard the 9th Elburg Crew Conference mary-the-host
Cheers from Matty and Me! That's it and for now, we'll be sailing off to more hosting (and parenting) adventures! But please visit my other sites below too, to learn more about my past and present hosting gigs. Thank you and see you again soon!

LEGO watch the greatest Batman film ever! My Lego Batman Movie Review:

Lego Batman is probably the most epic Batman movie ever, not to mention the one with the best-written lines I have ever heard! Take that, Iron Man; this movie surely will be a success when it opens on cinemas February 9, 2017! That what you call 'Robin' it in! Truly, Batman continues to reign as my top 1 favourite superhero; it was just like yesterday that I held and secured my Batman action figure which stood out yet comfortably sat alongside my dollies. Batman as a cute tine thumb-sized lego? Why not! First of all, I would like to thank the ever-wonderful President of Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox Philippines, Mr. Francis Soliven and the gorgeous Ms. Mae Vecina for the invites (also watching Hidden Figures tonight too; please watch out for my separate movie review on that, soon). My family and I had tons of fun with the movie, and with the pre-movie surprises, like these ones. First stop, check out the Dynamic Duo!
Truly perfect for the family, the Lego Batman Movie hilariously follows Batman from a state of absorbedness to selflessness. And in the process, finding the family he has long been taking for granted in spite of them always having his back.
Gotham City sees a new dawn with Barbara Gordon being the new commissioner who is less keen (compared to her father) on simply pressing the Bat-signal button for every form of villain distress. But while she lauds Batman, she aims to play a more active role. In fact, too active that Batman, I mean, Bruce Wayne becomes too smitten that he finds out he actually adopted a Son... And I mean Dick Grayson who eventually comes up with his own monicker, Robin. Eventually, the two set out on a mission, only to find out that the Justice League... well... was celebrating a milestone without Batman (this scene gave me all the more reason to dislike Superman and connect with Batman deeper). So anyway, Robin, a born-superhero follows to the thumb, and that's where the chaos begins. Truly hilarious chaos that's worth watching with the entire family! Trust me, if you don't bring your family along, you will feel like Batman watching the movie, Jerry Maguire alone!
The opening was really witty and funny, and you can surely expect an exciting ride all the way to the closing credits! And for the very first time, I fell in love with Joker and finally got to appreciate him. After all, how can you NOT fall in love with this face?
Of course, I couldn't resist posing with cute life-sized Lego Batman and Michael Keaton-version-lookalike-Batman; excuse my disheveled aura and my filthy sneakers (I was crime-fighting okay) as I flew in straight from work; wouldn't miss this movie for the world! I wonder where Batmen and I were gazing at thought...
And since we can't get enough of the Dark Knight, here's more of him: macho Batman & I-had-a-little-too-much-last-night-Batman, with this pretty girl, an occasional travel blogger and movie enthusiast (who I just happen to be with each time there are VIP movie screenings, but nope, I don't know her personally (insert Joker's face here)... anyhow, please visit her blog right here:
And in a way, I too, am like Batman (Bruce Wayne by day, caped crusader by night), as I hustle in my day job, but still get to take on my passion of being an events host / emcee! I'd appreciate it if you can click on these links below too about my events hosting adventures!
